Triumphant

Jasper was victorious in our Thanksgiving paper airplane competition. Here he is with the winning plane.

Peace

My son and one of the kittens fell asleep together on the couch before supper.

Ant Lion Headquarters

Yesterday, when I was off being irrresponsible, I noticed these ant lion traps all over the dirt floor of the tavern at the Four Winds Faire grounds. There were literally dozens of these little cones within a few square feet. I suppose they live in hope of the day when patrons return and drop food on the floor, which will attract ants, who will fall into these clever traps. If you don’t like calling the architects of these traps “ant lions,” you can always call them Curly Wurlys, like a childhood friend of mine did.

Blue

Today was so beautiful that it made me want to run away and be a gypsy.

Adorable

Sorry for the long delay in posting here. The long hot summer destroyed my interest in going outdoors. Now, I bring you an indoor photo of one of our four kittens.

Fountain

This is a photo of the center of one of the lovely fountains we saw at the Arboretum. Little trickles of water run through all those tiny channels.

Marigold

Marigolds were the first flower I ever grew as a kid, and I still have a soft spot for them.

Underneath

This is the underside of a thatched roof we saw at the arboretum. Note, the roof was on a garden feature and did not have to be waterproof!

An Enchanted Doorway

The first in a series of photos taken at the Dallas Arboretum.

Double Reflection

I have been in Dallas for the last few days. Today I saw this building reflecting another building, which was reflecting the evening sun.
